Wednesday
Writing Workshops
Have you been toying with the idea of joining a writers’ group to help you stay motivated and build your skills?
Perhaps it’s time!
In the workshops you can:
Improve your writing through structured critiques
Develop a writing routine
Understand the importance of drafting and redrafting your writing
Acquire and apply self-editing skills
See how giving feedback to others can improve your own writing.
Bernadette Foley brings to her writing workshops a wealth of knowledge gained from a lifetime of experience in the book publishing industry. This offers participants the unique opportunity of receiving valuable feedback on their writing, while at the same time, gaining a unique insight into the world of publishing.

Four workshops for non-fiction and fiction writers
While writing is satisfying and creative, it’s also quite solitary. Through regular workshops you’ll meet fellow writers, as well as honing your skills and staying on schedule.
For the past six years I've run many writing workshops and I enjoy helping the writers in these groups to develop their practice. The workshops have given some the deadlines and encouragement to complete their manuscripts and publish their books. Others have become the writers they hoped to be for their own satisfaction.
Join me – an experienced publisher and editor – and a small group of emerging writers in a friendly, supportive environment.

What happens?
The Wednesday Writing Workshops combine my professional expertise with the interaction of a group of people committed to helping each other become the best writers they can be.
In the 2-hour workshop, we will critique writing samples of up to 3000 words per person in every workshop.
Writers will email their work to the group a week in advance, so there is time for everyone to read and think about it before discussing the work together.
We’ll also explore writing, editing and publishing topics chosen to meet the group’s needs. They could include the importance of ‘show, don’t tell’, characterisation, dialogue, research techniques, approaching publishers and agents, and pitching your work.
